The beautiful thing is, there are SO MANY products to choose from below wholesale, if a million people were doing this there would still be products left over that people aren't even selling! Not only that, a lot of the people that are doing it, are doing it wrong. They are not going to be doing exactly what you're going to be doing. Because I think by now you are starting to understand the big picture here... Which is... There's more to eBaY then just selling something to someone and then walking away. ANYONE can look around their house or apartment and choose something, throw it up on eBaY and sell it. I know, I've done it hundreds of times! But if you can grasp the one simple concept that there's more money to be made then the initial auction sale and leave this web site right now knowing this, you will be more successful in anything you do on eBaY or in any business. You Might Be Thinking, Don't I Some sources require a Tax ID number and some don't. About 60% of the sources do and 40% don't. You've probably heard this before "Any real wholesalers require a Tax ID" this is TRUE. But they fail to mention the benefits of buying from what they call "middle-men" and the advantages/disadvantages of buying from a "real" wholesalers. I'll make this brief and hope you understand why this is. A real wholesaler is simply a company that buys huge quanities of items from specific stores or distributors. There might be a company called "RGB Wholesale - Electronics Warehouse" This company is working with distributors of stores like Best Buy, Sears, and as many places as they want to that sell electronic goods. They'll have, liquidated items, closeouts, they'll have refurbished items, they'll have open box items, they'll have overstock items. This company will buy all of this stuff from these places (or maybe one place depending on how much they carry and if they have any contracts). So they'll be buying MILLIONS of dollars worth of products monthly, weekly or yearly at around 10-35% retail. Now, "middle-men" as they call it are companies that buy from the big wholesalers in large quanities. They buy a lot so the wholesaler doesn't have to charge them much more to make a lot of money (say a pallet of big screen TV's cost $5,000). If they are buying these things on a regular basis, all the wholesaler has to do is ship them the product or maybe the company will come in with a truck and pick it up. So they get marked up on average another 2-5%. So now say a Big screen TV that retails for 10k (to make the numbers easy) was sold to the wholesaler for 2k and then sold again to the middle-man for $2,100 (based on a 5% markup from the wholesaler). So now the middleman has these TV's he paid only 100 more then the wholesaler did and he wants to make $50 or $100. You just got a 10k TV for $2,200. You just paid 22% of retail for it. So, yes buying from middle-men without a doubt increases the cost of the items but are usually easier to deal with. Since my wife and I mainly sell Childrens Clothing on eBay, we've bought directly from the STORES/Distributors like the wholesalers do, we've bought from the wholesalers and middle men. Lower down the food chain you're going to be able to get the products YOU WANT, you don't have to buy pallete full of stuff to get something and a lot of middle men will let you be more picky about what you get! So when people tell you only use real wholesalers, they won't tell you, you're probably going to have to buy a few grand worth of stuff to get the price you want. I say, START SMALL, then reinvest and when you're ready to buy from the wholesaler or even directly from the stores or distributors, then do it!
